What In the World is Going On?
Luke 21
". . . **.and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the nations, until the times of the nations be fulfilled"
Nation will rise against nation Kingdom against kingdom
And great earthquakes will be in different places and famines and pestilence's; and fearful sights and great signs will there be from heaven
And there will be signs in the sun, moon and stars; and on the earth distress of nations, with perplexity; the sea and the waves roaring; men's hearts failing them for fear and for looking after those things which are coming on the earth; for the powers of the heavens will be shaken
AND THEN
will they see the Son of man coming in a cloud with power and great glory
And when these things begin to come to pass, then lift up your heads and look up for your salvation is near
And he spoke to them a parable;
Behold the fig tree and all the trees; when they shoot forth you see and know of your own selves that summer is near
So likewise when you see these things come to pass, know that the kingdom of God is near
This age will not pass away until all these things be fulfilled.
Heaven and earth will pass away but my words will remain
See to it that the cares of this life don't prevent you from seeing that day come upon you
For as a snare it will come upon all them that dwell on the face of the whole earth
Watch and pray always that you may escape all these things that will come to pass and to stand before the Son of man
Like A Wise Man
And in that day
Many will say, Lord, Lord
Did we not prophesy
In your name
And in your name
Cast out devils
And in your NAME
Do many wonderful works
And I will say
Go away, go away
I never knew you.
Teachers of iniquity!
For those who hear my words
And do them, do them
And does the will
Of the Father in heaven
Is like a wise man
Who built his house
Upon a rock, upon a rock
It will not fall
When the rains come!
It will not fall
When the flood
And the rains come. . .

. . . "the sea and the waves roaring". . .(see side bar for intro to earth changes)
This is the only reference in the NT which mentions the physical aspect of the sea and waves of the oceans for what Yahshuah described as part of earth-changing events along with the signs in the sun, moon and stars, perplexity of nations and distress. The OT mentions the sea roaring as well. Besides the distress coming from the environmental changes going on in our oceans, what could possibly cause the sea and waves to "roar", causing men's hearts to fail with fear with those things "coming on the earth"? The conclusion comes later on in
Luke 21, where Christ reveals, "heaven and earth will pass away".
Why do I leave out certain parts in Luke 21 quoted over on the sidebar? If we read the first statement onward, we get the explanation. His disciples point out how beautiful the temple buildings are and Jesus makes a prediction that one day, not one stone will be left standing.
They ask him when this will take place and what will be the sign of these things coming to pass. His answer: "Take heed that you are not deceived, for many will come in my name, saying, I am Christ and the time draws near, don't go after them. But when you hear of wars and commotions, don't be terrified, for these things must first come to pass but the end it is not yet". Which end? the end of Jerusalem.
(right here he goes into a longer range view of the future)"Then he said to them, "nations will rise against nation and kingdom against kingdom: and great earthquakes will there be in different places and famines and pestilence's and fearful sights and great signs will there be from heaven. "BUT BEFORE ALL THESE THINGS", (all of what he just mentioned) "they will lay their hands on you and persecute you and deliver you up to the synagogues, and into prisons, being brought before kings and rulers for my name's sake. And it will turn to you as a testimony. Settle it in your heart not to meditate beforehand what you will answer, for I will give you a mouth and wisdom which all of your adversaries will not be able to take advantage of. And you will be betrayed both by parents and brothers and relatives and friends and some of you will they cause to be put to death. And you will be hated of all men for my name's sake. But not a hair on your head will perish. In your patience, you keep your souls".
Here we have Jesus give a detailed account of what his disciples would expect within their own lifetimes(before all these things) and that they would expect great persecution, betrayal and death. And then he mentions Jerusalem: " And when you see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, then know the desolation thereof is near". ( What desolation? The one previously asked about- when the temple would be destroyed.)
"Then let them which are in Judea flee to the mountains and let them which are in the midst of it depart out and let not them that are in the countryside enter into it. For these be the days of vengeance, that all things which are written may be fulfilled. But woe to them that are with child and to them that are nursing in those days! For there will be great distress in the land and wrath upon this people. And they will fall by the edge of the sword and will be led away captive into all nations and Jerusalem will be trodden down by the Gentiles until the times of the Gentiles be fulfilled**". Notice he mentions "wrath upon this people" , within a specific time WHEN Jerusalem AND the temple will be destroyed. There was a TEMPLE built there then, and IT WAS DESTROYED in 70 AD.
Here we have Jesus' detailed account of what will happen in Jerusalem and a clear warning to his disciples that when they see Jerusalem surrounded with armies, that they are to leave., before the desolation , while they still can. They did leave and we have evidence for this in various chronicles and books, one of which is titled, "Foxes Book of Martyr's". Another one called, "The Tradition's of Glastonbury", including many traditions which tell us where the first apostles/disciples went to.
Now let's pick up where he left off, just as he was mentioning certain things and saying, "but BEFORE ALL THESE THINGS"- and continue with what will be happening in the future, AFTER Jerusalem and THE TEMPLE are destroyed: "And there will be signs in the sun and in the moon and in the stars". You can read the rest now within context of it's happening. This is why I left out the Jerusalem/temple part; the persecution and the betrayals. This all happened before "nations will rise against nations. . "
**Notice also, Luke does not mention the gospel being preached in all the world as the other books give an account of but does mention the "times of the Gentiles being fulfilled". It is important to notice he mentions the city of Jerusalem itself, would continue to be trodden down by the nations until the times of the nations be fulfilled. While this trodding down is happening in Jerusalem, the gospel has been reaching to all the rest of the world. The word gentiles means "nations".
What kind of "gospel" was and is this? The word gospel means good news. Has the world really seen the fruits of this good news, the good news that Christ proclaimed? Or is there coming a more clear message of what he actually taught without all the heart-wrenching divisions and multiple dogmas as we see today?
In Luke's record also, there is no mention of the "abomination of desolation, as spoken by Daniel" but does refer to the desolation, using the same word as used in the prophecies of Daniel and also refers to the "days of vengeance, that all things written, be fulfilled" and "wrath upon this people". Did this happen already? Yes, it most certainly did and those who survived that desolation were scattered throughout the world. Josepheus and the Romans themselves give very detailed accounts of what happened. This cannot be confused with yet a future destruction of the temple. This is history.
The temple is no more, and there is not a stone remaining left upon another stone.
Whatever has happened since that time, including the re-gathering of the Jews(Judah) into the land and reoccupying the land along with the Palestinians, Moslems and Christians is another story. I maintain, the temple and Jerusalem are still destroyed and has nothing to do with modern day reinterpretations for some to try and fit this prophecy to current -day events, unless they acknowledge what Y'esu(Druidic name for Jesus) formely said, "that Jerusalem would be trodden down until the times of the nations be fulfilled", which is still going on.
As we see these days unfolding and Judah's unwillingness to share the Holy Land with his brothers, with all these factions at odds with themselves in this ongoing and current strife, this could most possibly lead to more destruction of Jerusalem, but NOT the temple. It's gone. What is more, we have a better idea just who the Jews are that are trying to establish a Jewish state and stronghold, leaving out the rest of the Hebrew tribes in their efforts, and at the same time, the rest of the Hebrew tribes,(House of Israel) having now formed other nations, are right there giving financial and military support, but not occupying the land!

Sounds Like Some Major Earth Changes To Me!
Psalm 46
God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. Therefore we will not fear, though the earth be removed and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea. Though the waters roar* and be troubled, though the mountains shake with the swelling thereof. Think on this.
Think on what? God IS our refuge and strength!

You too can discover what your name means
Names were given us to express what we may become
For the world, for each other; for God to
Express Himself through each of us
So for me, this time, has been to pour the honey
and maybe to swim in the honey too!
the honey of God's goodness,
the honey of his special promises, words and plan
for all of our lives
What a wonderful job this is!
Oh yes, oh yes, oh yes oh yes!
Take all of it or part of it
Take all of it or part of it!
I think I'll take it ALL!
